Dance to the sound of carollers’ bells, meet a scary Turoń creature, and watch colourful paper stars spinning. Experience the magical world of the “Szopka Krakowska”/“Nativity Scene from Krakow” tradition, and discover the unique folk culture of the Górale (Polish highlanders).

Folka is excited to invite you to join our debut Carnival Spirit Folk Excursion!

The Carnival Spirit Folk Excursion starts on Monday, 26th January, in lovely Krakow.

We’ll stay in Krakow for a little bit longer, as I would love to show you how magical the city is in the wintertime. You will be introduced to the richness of Polish folk culture and the unique “Szopka Krakowska” tradition.

Then, on Wednesday morning, we’ll drive towards the Beskid Mountains region.

You will discover the Górale’s unique folk crafts, explore wooden architecture, and join colourful traditional carnival celebrations. We will meet local folk artists, and you will learn how to carve a wooden bird and make traditional paper flowers. It’s always such a memorable experience to learn a craft straight from the artists and listen to their stories.

We will come back to Krakow on Sunday, 1st February, in the morning.

Each day will be packed with beauty, unique crafts, and inspiring meetings. Hopefully, we will also experience a little bit of snow!

Accommodation

We will be staying in lovely hotels. Rooms are single. Breakfast is included.

Transport

We’ll be travelling in a comfortable minibus with our private driver. Our group will consist of a maximum of 7 people.

PLEASE NOTE: There might be some changes to the itinerary.

You need to arrive in Krakow on Monday, 26th January, to join our late-afternoon walk and welcoming dinner.

You can come to Krakow earlier if you would like to discover its amazing monuments. We will recommend what to see and help you find a hotel.

CANCELLATION POLICY

As the Carnival Spirit Folk Excursion is happening soon, we are unable to offer a refund once you have confirmed and paid for the trip. There is a waiting list for our trip, and we will do our best to find a new participant.
