Folka silk scarf in collaboration with Caitlin Hinshelwood.

The scarf celebrates Polish folk craft, acting as a loose map of regional traditions.

It features famous papercuts from Lowicz, Easter Palms from Kurpie, wooden ornaments from Podhale, Necel ceramics, dancing couple from a double weaving wallhanging from Podlasie, pajaki chandelier and pisanki (handpainted egg) as well as some less known traditions and unique pieces you can find in the shop like wooden hoopoe bird made by Jozef.

Each scarf is hand dyed and screen printed on silk with hand rolled edges. Printed in limited runs with no two colourways ever printed exactly the same so you are guaranteed a unique piece.

Approx. size 80cm x 80cm

Hand wash cold.

Caitlin Hinshelwood is a London based artist and designer who produces distinctive collections of illustrative, hand-worked textiles; often produced as carefully crafted limited editions or unique pieces. Her textiles maintain a strong sense of character and colour is integral to her practice, working with it intuitively to create innovative combinations.

Research interests lie in the narrative possibilities of textiles: how textiles can be used to communicate, how they can act as repositories of personal or social history and how they function in communities. Large-scale works use motifs and symbols to suggest narratives or tell untold histories. Her textiles explore visual-storytelling and pattern-making.
