Woman Sweeping Porch Sculpture by Jan

Unique sculpture depicting woman sweeping porch. Beautifully hand carved in wood by a folk artist Jan. He even made a mini willow broom!

Jan is a self taught folk artist. He spent his life on a farm, hence why he likes to present traditional duties from a village life. We love his subtle hand carved details and simplicity of his forms. Some of his figures carry various tools, not used that often nowadays. His sculptures bring a peaceful mood and nostalgic feeling for past times. They are celebrations of countryside life.
