Hackney Advent Calendar by Nick Sellek

The main picture is a collection of photographs taken by Nick in London, creating a scene that resembles Hackney in east London, where Nick lives. On the outside, it appears to be a bleak and silent, snowy December day in East London, but as you start to open the windows, the council block windows and railway line arches reveal dimly lit interiors and advent calendar traditions. The 24th door being the entire council block in the background.

Lightly dusted with glitter, mounted on card, measuring 41cm x 29.5cm, it comes in a cellophane bag and with an envelope.

Nick Sellek is a freelance artist and model-maker living in London.

His Advent Calendars and Christmas cards were developed over a few years from Nick's love of Christmas. Both contemporary and traditional, they combine stark cityscapes, architecture and interiors with the magical warmth of Christmas.
